How do you confirm that my vw golf 1997 obd2 ignitor coil is working?

There are ways to tell if it's not working, and that is if you drive on a rainy or damp day, it may stop working. A good way to test the coil is in a dark room or at night, spray water on the coil. If it sparks, it needs replacing.
