You don't...
Your system requires 38lbs AT the Pintles. If it is higher that THAT, the usual hard starting (if at all) and high fuel consumption will really annoy you.
I did a switch bypass in my pump (replaced the relay), and I start by turning the key to ignition ON, switch the pump ON for a moment, switch it OFF, then start the vehicle. WHEN IT STARTS I SWITCH THE PUMP ON. WHEN I PARK I SWITCH IT OFF TO DIE.
Bought a PR42 fuel pressure regulator and plumbed it in. It is vacuum-actuated and placed after the filter in-line, which drops the pressure ~50lbs-to-37lbs. Got my mileage back, power curve... ME HAPPY!
where is the fuel pressure at
the fuel pump my be going bad,it needs a certain amount of pressure to pump fule,if it doesnt reach that pressure,no fuel

The fuel pressure for a 1984 Nissan 300ZX should typically be around 36 to 43 psi (pounds per square inch) when the fuel pump is running and the engine is in a specific operating condition. It's important to check the fuel pressure with a gauge to ensure it is within this range for optimal engine performance. If the pressure is significantly outside this range, it may indicate issues with the fuel pump, pressure regulator, or fuel lines.

The fuel pump pressure sensor monitors the fuel pressure of the vehicle.
