the boot lock is jammed and I cant get it to unlock so that I can secure the car - how do I unlock it please? Key wont work
Yes, you can accidentally lock your keys inside a Peugeot 206 if you exit the car with the keys still inside and the doors are locked automatically or manually. It's important to be cautious when exiting the vehicle to ensure you have your keys with you.
u can shut off a car while its in gear u just wont be able to get the key out without it being in park and the sterring wheel may lock but u can shut a car off with it in gear
I had the same problem. Now I can only open and lock the car using the boot lock! There are two locking systems on the passat. The boot and obviously by locking the door(driver's).I would say that the boot locking system is acting up or stopped working altogether.Do the rest of the doors open when you turn the key in the boot? That would suggest it's the boot locking system.I know it's a common problem with that year and year's before.I know four people who have had it.Usually requires changing the lock on the boot.
To open the boot of a Peugeot 206 without central locking, you can use the manual key entry. Insert the key into the boot lock located on the rear of the car, turn it to unlock, and then lift the boot open. If the boot lock is jammed or not functioning, you may need to access the interior of the car and release the boot latch from inside.
To remove the boot lock from a Seat Leon, first, ensure the car is securely parked and the battery is disconnected for safety. Open the boot and locate the screws or bolts securing the lock mechanism, typically found on the inside of the boot lid. Remove these fasteners, then gently pull the lock mechanism out of its housing. Finally, disconnect any wiring harness connected to the lock before fully removing it from the boot.
To replace the boot lock on a Volkswagen Passat, first, open the boot and remove any trim panels covering the lock mechanism. Disconnect the wiring harness and unscrew the lock assembly from its housing. Replace it with the new lock, reattach the wiring harness, and reassemble the trim panels. Finally, test the new lock to ensure it functions properly.
I don't know why it does this but to stop it all you do is hold the lock button for 10seconds
because a seat belt might be jammed
sounds like a bad door latch mechanism.
Take the vehicle to a mechanic and have them check the computer. If the doors used to lock but don't anymore, it could be computer, fuse, or a bad switch. Depends on the vehicle.
It may not be connected right.
