Call an AC contractor
You can spray a little 409 on the coils, let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes and simply rinse it down from top to bottom. Also rinse it from inside out.
You do not need to pump the system down just to clean the coil unless you are planning to remove the coil completely from the unit.
Condensate blowoff is water that condenses on an evaporator coil, is blown off the coil, and then carried a short distance down the duct by the velocity of the air through the coil.
An evaporator in a refrigeration system works by passingwarm air over it's coils. The warmth of the air heats theliquid refrigerant inside, causing it to boil into gas. Atthe same time, the air looses it's heat and turns cold.
I would remove parts until the evaporator is exposed then blow it out and/or vacuum it out then spray it down with Lysol.
Luckily, you’ll usually get telltale signs from your HVAC system if your evaporator coil has problems. These include: Warm air from vents: If the air coming out of your vents feels warm, that’s a sign that something is wrong with your evaporator coil. In most cases, this means that the coil is frozen and can’t absorb heat properly. Rising energy bills: A dirty or damaged evaporator coil will cause your AC unit to work harder than normal; this, in turn, will lead to higher energy bills. So, if your bills have been rising for no apparent reason, it might be time to have your system checked out. Hissing or bubbling noises: These sounds usually indicate that there’s a refrigerant leak somewhere in your system. If you hear these noises, it’s important to shut off your AC unit and call a professional as soon as possible. If any of these issues are present, and you’re able to confirm an evaporator coil concern through our team, the biggest question becomes whether to repair or replace the coil. This decision usually comes down to a few different factors, including the age of your system, the severity of the damage, and the cost of repairs. In most cases, it’s more cost-effective to simply replace an old or damaged coil; however, you might be able to get a few more years out of a good coil if it only has minor issues.
The primary function of the evaporator in a refrigeration system is to absorb heat from the surroundings, causing the refrigerant to evaporate and cool down the space or substance being refrigerated.
This is a assembly of a coil of copper or alumnium tubing and fins inside the house heater unit that cools down for the furnance blower to send cold air to the living spaces.
Musy smell is mold growing in bottom of evaporatoe coil case! Kits available commercially to spray disinfectant into duct system to kill mold but ensure you don't have any clogged drains first, and evaporator is difficult to get to, believe me!Answer 2BG offers a product that cleans the evaporator coil. Its as simple, well actually not simple, as drilling a hole in the evaporator in the neck between the evaporator and the fan. then you attach a drain plug into the evaporator and spray in BG frigi fresh which cleans out all the bacteria and dirt. followed by spraying in another bottle of frigi fresh into the fresh air intake on the exterior of the car. and to clarify, the evaporator is generally located underneathe the dash board on the passenger side, and generally requires you to sorta hang upside down to get at it.
You don't want to stop the water flow from the air conditioner evaporator coil drain. That water is there because the warm / moist air went through the evaporator coil and condensed, because the evaporator coil was cooler than the dew point of the warm / moist air. The drain is there for a reason. If you stop it, things that you don't want to get wet will get wet. Some window air conditioners are designed to pick up the condensate and blow it through the condensor fan. Larger systems still require a drain.
The evaporator will still be cold for a while after the machine shuts down as the refrigerant works its way through the system. Then once that is done the evaporator will be moist and the evaporation of that moisture will help it stay cool for a while. And finally the evaporator is made of metal and will feel cool most of the time.
on my chrsyler if u look head on at the engine. on the left hand side under the engine about a foot and half down should be your fuel filter. Depending on if it has an evaporator coil it should only have 2 tubes (one going in and one going out). If it has an evaporator coil there will be three tubes. The normal two tubes and one more coming out the side.
