Remove the driveshaft from the back of your Chevy transmission. Remove the transmission mount retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts from the Bell housing. The transmission can then slide backwards. Don't forget to unbolt the torque converter from the flex-plate and remove the torque converter with the transmission.
Does it have an automatic or standard transmission? That is the first question..
you sell the truck
It is bolted in the transmission valve body. You will have to remove the transmission pan to get to it.
Need to know if it is a truck or car and if it is a standard or automatic transmission.
You will have to remove the transmission pan that is on the bottom of the transmission to drain the fluid.
It does not have one. You will have to remove the transmission fluid pan to drain the transmission.

Remove the plug from the bottom of your 2000 Chevy transmission. Allow the transmission to completely drained out. Return the transmission plug to its original position. Fill the transmission with new fluid.
Remove transmission oil pan for access to filter
It is in the bottom of the transmission. You will have to remove transmission pan and you will see it.
A manual transmission does not have an oil pan.
