To remove the thermostat housing, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Drain the coolant from the radiator and remove any components obstructing access to the housing, such as hoses or brackets. Unscrew the bolts securing the thermostat housing and carefully lift it off, taking care not to damage the gasket surface. Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly before installing the new thermostat housing.
Follow your top radiator hose. The thermostat will be in that housing just remove the two bolts that hold it on.
In a 2.3L engine, remove the rad hoses from the thermostat housing, two in total, undo the two bolts, and pull the housing off. The thermostat is inside. The housing is on the left side of the engine.
The termostat housing
There is one on that Rad think the second is beside the termostat housing
under the termostat housing.
first drain the fuild then locate the tremostat housing remove the return hose which is top port on raditor. Unbolt the housing romove old gasket lay gasket sealent on the gasket both side but make sure you already remove the termostat and replace with new and then install gasket then tighten the housing hand tight install hose to the termostat housing a tighten the clamp for the hoses and replace fuild that was been removed or reuse if not dirty and start and run car or truck at idle speed and check for leaks
Under the housing where the lower radiator hose attaches.
The termostat in the 3.1l is located in a housing in the lower intake manifold. The upper rad hose is conected to the thermostat housing.
Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. The hose connects to the thermostat housing. Remove the hose and the housing,, the thermostat is located within the housing, portruding into the engine. When replacing it, be sure and notice which end of the thermostat fits INTO the engine and install the new one the same way.
There is no such thing as a "termostat"
Slightly messy this way... Make sure truck is cold. Unbolt thermostat housing located on the top front of the motor, with the upper radiator hose attached to it. remove housing, remove thermostat. Clean gasket surfaces on intake manifold & thermostat housing. Spread gasket silicone on intake thermostat flange. Install new thermostat, install new gasket on top. Spread gasket silicone on underside of thermostat housing. Bolt housing on intake. Remove radiator cap & top off with 50/50 coolant/water.
that all depends on which engine you have. eiter the 3.0 or 3.4 or3.8 how ever the termostat housing should be located oppsite the water pump or right on top near the intake. either way alls you have to do is remove the the 3 bolts to the thermostat housing pull the old one out and put new one in.
