I BELIEVE the GEM is in the center stack of the dash , behind or just to the left of the radio in your 2001 Ford Explorer Sport ( can anyone confirm that ? )
On a 1999 Explorer there is a 7.5 amp fuse in location # 10 of the fuse panel for the overhead console.
My 2008 Impreza Outback Sport has one. It's in the center console, at the bottom.
if it is loose under the console storage, it is probably the bracket under the storage bin. Remove the two screws holding the lid and the two screws by the latch hole and the two screws on the bottom to remove the inside of the storage area. Once you get it out you might see that the bracket that the screws on the bottom of the storage bin go into is broken. You can get a replacement bracket for about $80.00. You have to remove the console to replace.
u have to remove several bolts. and then work it so you can slide it out.. it takes some effort
Hi, You have to remove the chrome ring around the transmission shiter and put it in neutral. Then, remove the whole trim around the shifter, that part is as wide as the floor console and goes from the front of the floor console where it reaches the dash and it goes up to the floor console storage bin. You hae to try it upward. Then you can remove the big trim around the radio, the same one that holds the ventilation controls and the 2 air outlets. You remove it by pulling it rearward. Then you remove the 4 7mm bolts that holds the radio and you disconnect it. If you want to replace it with a factory one, it has to be reprogram, which you can't do on yourown.
The fuse for your 2002 Ford Explorer Sport is similar to that of the 2001 Ford Explorer Sport.
A Ford Explorer Sport is a 2 door model, while the Explorer Sport Trac is a 4 door model with a small pickup bed.
To remove the overhead console on a 2005 Ford Sport Trac, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and disconnect the battery for safety. Use a flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool to gently pry off any plastic covers or trim pieces that might be hiding screws. Locate and remove the screws securing the console to the roof, then carefully pull down the console, disconnecting any wiring harnesses for lights or buttons as you do so.
