To replace the ECM (Engine Control Module) in a 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts. Locate the ECM, typically found under the dashboard or in the engine compartment, and unbolt it from its mounting bracket. Carefully unplug the wiring harness and remove the old ECM, then install the new one by reversing the process: plug in the wiring harness, secure the ECM, and reconnect the battery. Finally, start the engine to ensure the new ECM is functioning correctly.

On an Oldsmobile Delta 88, the connections on the Engine Control Module (ECM) typically include various electrical connectors for input and output signals. These connections link to sensors such as the throttle position sensor, mass airflow sensor, and coolant temperature sensor, which provide real-time data to the ECM. Additionally, output connections may be made to the fuel injectors, ignition system, and other components to control engine function. It's important to reference a wiring diagram specific to the model year for precise pinouts and connections.
you can't fix an ecm, you have to replace it.
it is located under the airfilter. Remove the air box and the 2 screws holding the cables on the ECM. After the cables are disconnected you can just lift out the ECM.
is the ecm on a dodge 2001, 2500 diesel hard to replace??
No reference pulses to the ECM (Electronic Control Module)..
it is located in the upper housing of the air filter.
The ECM fuse is located inside the car. Open the little glove box, and pull out the liner. From there you can see the Fusebox. It is labelled ECM
