depending on what type of coil is being used if it is an E-coil design it is typically removed adjacent from the distributor with appropriate tools.
Pull the plastic cover off the top (head) of your engine the coils are lined up on the top of your engine. Next you will need to unplug the coils from the connecting wires. After you unplug them you can simply pull the ignition coils out and replace them with your new ones.

under the plastic cover on top of the engine, you will need a torx fitting to remove the cover, then the coils are on top and spark plugs below the coils, very easy to replace, coils are just 1 10mm bolt each
remove the intake up to the throttle body. after that you should be able to see the coils on the drivers side of the engine. remove the bolt and replace. don't mix the ignition wires.

Replacing ignition coils will not guarantee that your misfiring codes will disappear nor that it will solve the problem. I had the same problem in my 2000 CE and so far, after replacing spark plugs, wires, coils and testing the fuel injectors haven't been able to fix the problem. However if you want to replace the coils it is rather simple. It has 3 coils located on top in front of the engine. Detach the wires and unscrew the bolts and you should be able to pull them out and replace them in the same way.
