this requires special tools and procedures.
I recommend you visit your local library and read a service manual for your car.
The special steering wheel puller and spring clip retainer compressor could be rent able from your local auto parts store.

You will need to remove the retaining ring at the top of your 1978 Chevrolet Blazer ignition switch. Slide the ignition barrel out and remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new ignition switch.
You will need to attach the wiring harness to the end of your 1984 Chevrolet Blazer ignition lock cylinder. Slide the cylinder into the cylinder slot. Secure the ignition lock cylinder with the retaining ring.
Hello. I just had to replace my turn signal and ignition switches on my 1997 Blazer. Part of the process was to remove the ignition cylinder. You will have to remove the lower steering column cover and then remove the two screws that secure the top cover in place. You will have toget the inverted Torx sockets to get the screws out. I bought a kit at Shucks(Kragen/Checker) for about $16.00. YOu will now be able to lift the top cover out of the way and get to a small hole on the top of the cylinder housing. Insert a small Allen wrench into the hole, and turn the key to the run position, the lock cylinder should come right out. Hope this helps.
There is 1 per cylinder.
You can find ignition coil for a 2001 Blazer on http://www.made-in-china.com/products-search/hot-china-products/Ignition_Coil.html
The buzzer that lets you know the key is in the ignition in a 1989 Chevy Blazer is in the steering column. To access it you would need to remove the steering wheel with a special tool, or remove the ignition assembly. The key makes contact with a tab that activates the buzzer.
Chevy did not use a crankshaft sensor in 1995.If it won't fire then I would check the ignition module in the distributor and more then likey replace it. Also check the ignition coil and WIRE / coil wire.
I have a 93 S10 Blazer and sounds like the ignition lock cylinder is stuck/broken. Try shaking the steering wheel left and right briskly while trying to turn back out the key, making sure to push in on the key and lock shaft.
I would replace the ignition module that's under the distributor cap.
Start by disconnecting the yellow wire under the dash for the airbag. Now turn the steering wheel 90 degrees to access the underside of the steering wheel. You will have to insert a smaller size flat blade screw driver into the 4 holes on the back of the steering wheel and rotate them to release the airbag. Now remove the nut holding the steering wheel on and remove the steering wheel. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE AIRBAG MODULE!! Now remove the lower column cover with 2 Torx screws. You will now have access to 2 inverted Torx screws that hold the top column cover in place. Look on the top of the ignition cylinder housing and find the small hole. Insert a small Allen wrench into the hole and turn the key to "run" position and the ignition cylinder will come out. Hope this helps.
Replace the ignition module and see if that don't fix your problem.
