As a 15+ year heavy line mechanic I have to state here if you never done this type of repair before don't attempt it due to the nature of the difficulty, and even in a full service shop the first one I did was a problem the moment I started it. Due to the lack of space required to remove the side plate the transmission should be removed from the car. meaning the engine and transmission combo, have to be removed through the bottom to even attempt to start the repair.
