first you make sure your float level is set right. you hook up a vacum gauge to a vacum port at the base of the carb.then you screw the screws in the bottom of base in all the way till it is snug then you back them out 1 1/2 complete turns start vehicle and make sure it is warmed up and screw in or out each screw and watch till you have the highest vacum reading with it running good and smooth,you shuold be idleing about 600-800 rpms .if it is a quader jet carb then you will havbe to probably have it rebuilt by someone that knows the tricks to seal the base plugs so they don't leak and cause the truck to run rich.
