You can clear the code using a code reader. If you don't have one, an auto shop can clear it for you. They may charge you. The code may go away on it's own if it was fixed properly, and the ecu reads the egr system is functioning properly again.
Don't assume that a code that is related to the EGR system is necessarily the EGR Valve at fault.
egr was not installed until 2005 on this particular engine.
Trouble code P0401 means: EGR System Malfunction Replace the EGR Valve
The Chevy P1400 code indicates an issue with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system, specifically related to the EGR flow or the EGR valve. This code can result from a malfunctioning EGR valve, blocked passages, or issues with the EGR control circuit. It may lead to increased emissions and poor engine performance. Addressing this code typically involves inspecting the EGR system components and ensuring they are functioning correctly.
I would double check that that is the actual code stored in the PCM. That is a code for EGR and you are correct that you do not have EGR.
Egr code
EGR system failure. The EGR valve has failed.
It is a code for a failed EGR valve.
where'sthe egr flow on a 2000 ford expedetion {code; P0401
The check engine light code P0401 on an Acura indicates a problem with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system, specifically that insufficient EGR flow has been detected. This could be due to a clogged EGR valve, a malfunctioning EGR system, or issues with related components such as hoses or sensors. Addressing this code typically involves inspecting and cleaning the EGR system and ensuring all components are functioning properly. Ignoring this issue can lead to decreased engine performance and increased emissions.
Plugged egr tube or a failed egr valve.
Could be an EGR port clogged with carbon. Remove and clean EGR and EGR ports.
