A gas only engine has a spout where oil is added to the engine. If there is no spout, then it is a gas/oil engine. FYI - gas only engine is a four-stroke (four-cycle) engine and the gas/oil engine is two-stroke (two-cycle).
No, but this link should be able to help you: http://www.g-team.us/
Call a John Deere Dealer for the truth of the matter.
A broken lawn mower is one of the most frustrating things in the world. This is especially the case if you live in a neighborhood where the houses are relatively close together. This means that everyone gets to see your lawn on a daily basis. If your lawn doesn't look good, then people think less of you. They think you're lazy. Nobody wants that. It's also not good for home prices because it can drag down the curb appeal of your area. That being the case, it's imperative that you mow your lawn. What do you do when your lawn mower isn't working? There are several options when looking into lawn mower repair. Most people will go straight to the most obvious option, which is to hire someone from a local home improvement store. This is a tremendous mistake. Not only will you have to overpay, but you will likely have to wait hours or possibly even days for a serviceman to come out to your home. If you can't wait, then you have to schlep your lawn mower to the store, which isn't a fun experience. A much better option is to hire an independent lawn mower repairman. The biggest advantage here is that you will be saving a lot of money. An often overlooked advantage is that an independent lawn mower repair man will go over what's wrong. These people are often engine lovers, which means they know what they're doing and they're passionate about it. They will want to show you why your engine isn't working. Once that happens, you will know how to fix your lawn mower on your own in the future. So not only are you saving money now, but you're also saving money the next time you have a problem with your lawn mower. In most cases, a lawn mower repair man will tell you that there is stale gas in the lawn mower. This is easily the most common problem when lawn mowers fail to operate. Another potential problem is too much oil in the filter, which chokes the ignition. However, it's recommended that you hire a lawn more repair man to be sure.
well you first need to tell someone is it electronic ignition or dose it have points ??
Seat switch; it does not know the seat is occupied.
The number that you didn't list after the STX-** will tell you the width.
The owners manual will tell you exactly how much. There is a lot of other good info in there, too.
does it have spark to the plug if not the part you might check would be the coil or the electronic start module probably the latter if it is a newer mower or of ots older then the coil magneto usually dont go bad could be a bad gap between the coil and the magneto if its an older mower could be a bad set of points if its an older mower point gap could be bad spark plug could be bad as I don't know exactly what the lawn mower is doing hard to tell what is wrong
John Deere is a great brand for a mower that will last. WalMart is a store that sells many items online. You can purchase a mower from WalMart and they will have it delivered to the store for free or to your home for a nominal cost.
You have probably bent the shaft of the engine. (Been there, done that!) This could mean the engine is not longer in working condition. Take the lawn mower to a qualified mechanic and they can tell you whether it can be repaired, or if you have a nice piece of scrap metal.
If it is a 2-stroke engine, 2-cycle engine oil is added to the gasoline. If the engine is 4-stroke, regular 30W motor oil is used. To tell if your engine is 2-stroke or 4-stroke, look for a spout where oil is poured into the engine. If there is no spout, then the engine is 2-stroke and 2-cycle oil must be added to the gasoline.
To start a lawn mowing business, ask your parents' permission first. If they say yes, discuss with them a good price to charge. Then, visit a few neighbors. Say, Hi, my name is ___. I'm trying to earn money. Would you like me to cut your lawn? Expect "no". But tell them thank you anyway.
