You can't - later models have the option to immobilise the airbag, but year 2000 models do not.

Your question makes no sense. If you are asking can you turn the air bags off the answer is no.

in the big square box front left of engine bay. It has a flexipipe going into it. filter is a flat panel.
your thermostat is stuck you will find it at the end of the top rad hose where it meets the engine
There is a wiring loom behind the air bag this works the radio and horn it is about £6 takes about half an hour to change
Does it turn on but not blow cold? if it turns on, turn it on (engine runing), wait 30-40 seconds, if it isn't blowing cold, then you need a air con recharge, just ask your local dealer mate, £69.95.

for most astras its in the left hand side of the bonnet. but for the exception you need to look for your air intake pipe, you cant miss it its a big black pipe that leads from the engine to the air filter box
depending on the year if its astra f 91-98 its underneath the wiper skuttle panel and if its astra g 98-04 its behind the glove box (couple of screws) then its located behind a rectangular cover on the side of the heater box held on by two 5.5mm screws
