I was just up in Alaska(Oct of 2008). I'm not sure which part of the world you are in but I flew into Anchorage and drove up to Fairbanks. I think anywhere just north of Anchorage you'll be able to see them but when you get up to Fairbanks and out of the city lights you'll see them just fine. The best time to see them I have been told is Feb and Mar. I guess that's when the skies are freest of cloud cover. Anyways it's about a 5 hour drive from Anchorage to Fairbanks.
it depends where you are in northern California and where your destination is in southern California
About eight hours by car.
There are no ferries from Northern Ireland to France. To get to France by ferry you would first drive to somewhere in the Republic of Ireland, particularly Rosslare, and get a ferry from there. The ferry takes about 24 hours, and the drive to Rosslare from Northern Ireland would take at least 3 hours, depending on where in Northern Ireland you were starting from.
To drive from Gawler in South Australia to Alice Springs in the Northern Territory would take almost 18 hours. The distance is 1504 km.
10 hours
Depends on how fast you drive and how often you stop. I did a similar drive from Nebraska to state line CA in a little over a day.
Yes, there are wolves that live where the Northern Lights take place. The Aurora Borealis is a natural light show that takes place in the Northern Hemisphere. You can see them in Fairbanks, Alaska.
