It all depends on the mode of transportation, time of day, time of week, and whether or not you choose to follow the speed limit...

Generally, traveling on weekends and at peak travel times (aka rush hour) will slow you down.

By car, you're looking at about 6 hours.

By bus, you're looking at about 6 1/2 hours, with stops in between (usually small rest stops) (www.greyhound.ca)

By plane, you're looking at just over an hour (not including the drive from Sudbury airport, which is about 20 minutes outside of town) (www.aircanada.ca)

By train...it gets kinda complicated. Via Rail doesn't follow Hwy 17 so there's no direct route from one place to the other. You'd actually have to go to Toronto, spend the night, and transfer to another train in the morning. In total you're looking at around 16 hours, assuming the train is on time. (www.viarail.ca)

RECOMENDATION: IF YOU DONT WANT TO DRIVE RIGHT TO SUDBURY FROM OTTAWA HERE ARE SOME RESTING STOPS RENFREW 1 HOUR FROM OTTAWA DEEP RIVER 1HOUR 50 MINUTES FROM OTTAWA COBDEN ABOUT 2 HOURS AWAY FROM OTTAWA MATTAWA 3 HOURS FROM OTTAWA AND NORTH BAY ABOUT 4 AND A HALF HOURS AWAY FROM OTTAWA THEN YOUR DESTANATION SUDBURY HOPE THIS HELPS TO!
