The Chesapeake Bay Bridge, located in Maryland, spans approximately 4.3 miles (about 6.9 kilometers) across the Chesapeake Bay. It connects the eastern and western shores of Maryland and is a key transportation route in the region. The bridge consists of two spans, with the original span completed in 1952 and an additional span added in 1973.
