I bought a 1989 Festiva LX which has the same 1.3L engine as the 1988 Festiva, and I used nothing but 10W30 Pennzoil in it. I changed both the Oil and the Oil Filter religiously and got 269,000 miles on that engine. Vaya con Dios, Chuck, CABGx3
i have a 91 Festiva, but around that range they are pretty much the same so it is 3 quarts of oil
5w-30
My 1989 festiva owner manual states: 3.9 quarts with a filter change.
Check your PCV valve.
3.6 Quarts (including filter)
Mounted on the engine block.
Is your PCV valve working okay?
well the best thing to actually run is a straight oil like a 40w or 30w when the motor gets older it just seals it up that much better and makes it last longer i have a festiva toguhesty car ever
I do not believe the Festiva has a low oil light.... the light you are seeing is likely for oil pressure which has nothing to do with how much oil you have in your engine. you could have a bad oil pump or the gap between your oil pump pickup and oil pan has been smashed out. theres also 100 other reasons that i don't have room to write.
The oil capacity for a 1990 Ford Festiva, including the oil filter, is approximately 4 quarts (or about 3.8 liters). It's important to check the owner's manual for specific recommendations and to ensure the correct type of oil is used. Always verify the level after filling to ensure proper lubrication.
I think the Festiva manual transmission uses ATF The auto parts store or the owners manual will tell you
