To replace an Engine Control Module (ECM), first, disconnect the car battery to ensure safety. Remove any covers or components obstructing access to the ECM, then carefully detach the wiring harness and any mounting bolts or screws securing the module. After removing the old ECM, install the new one by reversing the disassembly steps, ensuring all connections are secure. Finally, reconnect the battery and, if necessary, reprogram the new ECM to match your vehicle's specifications.
