r22a
No the whole system need to be evacuated of the r22 before you put r22a in the system. It's against the law to mix 2 different freons together and also dangerous.
R22 is a hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) refrigerant that is being phased out due to its negative environmental impact. R22a is a hydrocarbon refrigerant blend that is used as an alternative to R22 in some systems, but it is flammable and requires special handling precautions.
No, you should not mix R22 and R22a refrigerants together. Mixing different refrigerants can lead to system inefficiency, reduced cooling capacity, and potential damage to the equipment. It is important to use the correct refrigerant specified by the manufacturer for your system.
When retrofitting an R22 system with R22A, it's important to follow the manufacturer's guidelines and local regulations. Generally, you would use the same charge amount as specified for R22, but adjustments may be necessary based on the system's specific requirements and performance after the retrofit. Always ensure to check for leaks and proper system functionality after the conversion. Consulting with a certified HVAC technician is recommended for precise guidance.
i would do a triple evac and install a r22a alrarm becuse it is very flamable thats why i dont want to use it if you have leak in your a-h and you activate your electric heat strip you have a fire probaly a better app is for refridartion no heat source
