Most dealerships are split into three main departments.
DEALERSHIP

SALES DEPARTMENT

Car Brands

Use cars / pre-owned vehicles

AFTERSALES DEPARTMENT

Service

Parts

Bodyshop

Valeting

ADMINSTRATION DEPARTMENT

Accounting Functions

These are the sales department and the aftersales departments. The sales departments are then split by brand (in order to meet brand standards) and sales adminstration. The aftersales department is split into 3 x departments. These are the service department, parts department, valeting department and the bodyshop. You also have an administration department which would look after all the invoicing and accounting functions for the dealership.

Management usually consists of a sales manager, aftersales manager an accountant and these people then report to a DEALER PRINCIPAL (general manager / owner).
