remove dist cap remove front left side no 1 spark plug note were no 1 spark plug wire is on cap turn over engine until compresion comes out hole look at location off the rotor try and make it point at the no1 spark plug position on distrbitor you may have to mark it with a marker when your timing mark on your balancer on front of motor is pointing at zero or the gap on your balancer is up and lined up on timing tab at zero and both rocker arms aredown and your rotor is ponting at or pretty near no 1 distribitor location you should be at one take off bolt and tab holding distribitor note which way it turns slightly as it unmeshess with cam gear. when reinstalling get a feel for distribitor docking into cam gear. do a dry run .distribitor willnot drop all the way down until you have some one bump the starter while you press down on rim off distribitor with back of a hammer handle ,wood, not metal.if everthing is right it will pop down take your time and take care dont get in hurry till you figure it out once youv done it you will go oh i see and you will never forget . remember compression rotor position rockers down balancer mark on zero at timing tab
how do i find the timing on my 383 400 hp stroker motor
You can monitor distributor degrees with a timing light.
A base engine with no intake manifold, pulleys, carburetor, or distributor will run around $3,400. https://www.westcoastengines.com/budget-383-stroker-for-sale
Advance the distributor until the engine pings then back off to the point the engine stops pinging, tighten the distributor. This will require driving a few test runs.
350...383 is a stroker motor, a 350 with a 400 crank and cam which increases the stroke and adds .3 liters of displacement.
firing order 383 stroker Chevyif it's a Chevy 383 stroker then the firing order i 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
You buy the correct crankshaft, rods, and pistons and install them in your block.
chuta loco ni idea.. yo ando en las mismas
a 383 stroker is just a 400 crank in a 350 block...so yes
u go to the store and buy a piston for a 383 stroker and put in the hole with a piston pusher but the regular tightning
If you wanted to put a 3.75" stroker crankshaft with a with a 0.05" offset grind into a Ford engine with a 4" bore (such as a Windsor 351) you could make a 383ci Ford stroker. But as for making the traditional Chevy stroker engine, you can't turn a Ford engine into a Chevy engine.
You can for sure fit a 350 V8 with the conversion kit. You should be able to install a 383 stroker.
