All the promoters say so. I can only tell you what happened when the r-12 termination began. The market place was flooded with new substitutes that claimed they are manna from heaven and will work as well if not better than r-12. I swallowed the PR and bought a now not so popular sub and found that it had mixed results and a lot of older system would not function when the system was running in extreme hi load and hi heat situations. There seemed to be a big difference in how they operated in commercial applications and residential applications. A hit and miss required alteration of cap tubing even fan speeds. Your main concern although is the design of the compressor. Most Compressor makers will give detailed info on this subject and following their recommendations will make your system operate in the correct range and last for the time it was designed to last.
