I can't find any specific information about it, but some things that lean me in that direction are:

• "Home Associates" is an exceptionally generic name. Legitimate businesses generally have a distinctive name to make them stand out.
  
• Not only is it generic, it's generically generic. There's no indication of what field of business they're in. Another bad sign.
  
• The name sounds like it's a work-from-home "opportunity". Rule of thumb: work-from-home is a scam until proven otherwise.
• Someone is asking if it's a scam. When was the last time you heard someone wonder if a legitimate business was a scam? The fact that you can't tell is in itself a clue.

You can look into it further if you want, but definitely don't send them money or sign up for anything yet. Real jobs pay you. If any kind of transfer of money in the opposite direction is required (for "supplies" or "training" or whatever), it's a giant neon sign blinking SCAM SCAM SCAM.
