NO if your puting refrigerant in your system yearly that means you have a small leak some where and it needs to be found.. if your service tech says this is normal he or she needs to go to school for HVACR...
The refrigerant (freon) in any air conditioner should last the life of the unit. If not, you have a leak.
I just had 2 pounds of Freon added to my central A/C and was charged $30 a pound.
Actually no technical skills needed to check the Freon level. Home central air conditioners have a Freon scale on it. One just need to read the scale and determine whether the level of Freon is sufficient.
i would not do it.. Epa requires to you have a license to purchase and use certain type of hfc and cfc freon
Never! If it's low on refrigerant it has leaked.

Answering "Where do you add freon to your air conditioner in your ford ranger?"
They use R410a eco friendly refrigerant gas now.

The answer should seem obvious... you have a leak. It could be anywhere in the system, which is unfortunate for you. You'll probably need a tech to come and do a leak test on your system.
you use freon to cool your car and make the air conditioner work
