Could be but probably an engine problem.
Pump is bad, most likely requires a rebuild or replacement transaxle.
More than likely the transmission has gone into overdrive.
it is more than likely your transmission mabey a sensor of some type but its in your transmission
you need to put gas in it
Obviously, switching from the Drive gear to the N gear while driving wears down the transmission, but it DOES give you higher gas mileage. Just how much the transmission is worn down due to this depends on how much you switch between the gears. I wouldn't recommend it as it does shorten the life of your transmission, and the transmission costs more than the money you'd save on gas.
An automatic transmission is better than a manual transmission for city driving. It cuts down on the fatigue of constant shifting and reduces rollback.
Water Pump or Thermostat. May have to change water pump to replace thermostat.
the transmission is slipping
worn out trans most likely clutchs or oneway clutch <sprag>
Because it is going into neutral. This is called "popping out of gear." It means the transmission's shot.
Was the volt gauge working? If it showed no response when driving then the charge/ign fuse could be blown and you were running off battery power till it ran down.
Does your car have overdrive? Does it stall when going uphill? If you answered yes to these it is possible that your transmission kick down isn't working. The kickdown basically detects when the car becomes under load and shifts the transmission down a gear.
