replace the intake gasket set
On the end of the intake maifold. On the end of the intake maifold.
if it is the intake manifold YES, exhaust manifold NO.
Should be on the front of the engine block, if you have a vortec it is on the lower maifold below the EGR valve.
i have a 1.4 puma,i think its between inlet maifold pipes, there should be 2 hoses going into manifold and 1 in the middle going to the valve the hoses join on a T shape,my hoses collapse when engines running and kicks out black smoke
locate the air box where the air filter is, and follow the tube that goes into the intake manifold on the engine, and you should run into it befor you hit the intake maifold and it has a wire hooked into it from wire harnest
the lamba sensor is located inside the maifold
it is screwed in to the intake maifold on the air box side of the engine
pour some transmission fluid in the dipstick hole 2 litres will do it. you may have a leak, any evidense of red fliud at the vacuum pipe that connects the modulator valve to inlet maifold, at manifold end, if so change modulator (externally mounted on tranny)
generally means that the firing order is written on top of intake manifold the numbers will be cast in the maifold at manufacture and will look like this,--1-3-4-5-6-2-7-8, may also havinve firing order written there do not use the numbers as i have written them, they are just an example
AnswerCertainly!! A piece of cake if you remain meticulous! Do have handy a pen and piece of paper to insure you maintain the order of the steps you take to remove the manifold cover. The manifold cover has 7 bolts that must be removed from the top of the manifold cover. Be careful!! There is 1 remaining screw on the back of the manifold to hold it in place in the rear of the engine compartment. The throttle assembly is also attached the the rear of the manifold cover. Be careful not to rock it back too hard as to displace something in the rear. A second person if good to have; a third hand is a must. I used a short 2x4 to keep the manifold cover propped up while I changed the spark plugs AND the valve cover gaskets. Good luck, swaabee
Remove the intake maifold upper intake plenum
Try looking at the back of the engine on the maifold just before it connects to the exhaust pipe.
