radiator fan is supposed to turn on before over heating to draw more air thru radiator and over engine to assist with cooling if fan is not turning on soon enuff , you need a new lower temp fan switch
Ummmm, Radiator fans run off a temperature switch. Sometimes they put the fan switch and sender for the gauge together so I suppose it could be related. Have you checked to see if the wires are unplugged? Just a thought.
Check the coolant level. check the radiator fans.
Most likely you have overheating, that's why the keeps running. You need to check the temperature control sensor and the thermostat.
sounds like your temperature sensor unit if you have already checked the thermostat and the radiator and fans are ok
The fans normally come on when needed. Is the car running hot -- is the temperature gauge reading above normal? If so, there's a problem with the fans or the cooling system. If not, don't worry about it.
Inoperative radiator fans, bad water pump, failed headgasket?
Why does the temperature gauge on your 2001 malibu not work and the cooling fans run all the time?
Low coolant? Water pump not circulating coolant? System air bound? cooling fans not working? Defective radiator cap? Bad temperature gauge?
a bad termastat
likely possibilities are the following. Low or bad coolant , water pump, thermostat needs changing, clogged radiator or lines, coolant temperature sensor or radiator fans not coming on, head gasket Also check the radiator caps on the hose and the overflow container. That was my problem. One or both may have to be replaced.
The temperature sensor for the radiator fans on a 1999 Chrysler Grand Voyager is typically located near the thermostat housing or mounted on the engine block. It monitors the coolant temperature and signals the radiator fans to activate when the engine reaches a certain temperature. For precise location, it's advisable to consult the vehicle's service manual or a repair guide.
it may be your thermostat or water pump is it over heating with steam comming out ?
