water pumps don't normally give signs of failing. what happens is the bearings give out. you can take the belt off and spin the pulley, if you hear a grinding noise or it won't turn, you might have a bad pump.
A failing water will either 1) be noisey or 2) leak around the shaft or 3) Have some play present when the pully is pulled up and down by hand.( engine off)
A timing chain normally will last as long as the engine. Signs of a failing timing chain are chain noise and or engine that continues to jump time.
Signs of a failing timing chain include unusual engine noises, such as rattling or slapping, especially during startup. You may also notice poor engine performance, misfiring, or difficulty starting the engine. Additionally, if the check engine light illuminates, it could indicate timing chain issues. Regular maintenance and timely replacement can help prevent significant engine damage.
when your motorcycle leaks gas
Signs that indicate a failing water heater include inadequate hot water, strange noises, leaks, rusty water, and age over 10 years.
There are several signs of a failing oil pump. A few signs are low oil pressure, increased temperature, and noise.
Inadequate fuel pressure. If that 2000 S10 Blazer has a 4.3 engine, it needs 61 to 66 psi (engine off with fuel pump running) to run properly.
Signs that a water heater is failing include: inconsistent water temperature, strange noises coming from the unit, rusty or discolored water, leaks around the unit, and an increase in energy bills.
Common signs of a failing washer transmission include loud noises during operation, difficulty spinning or agitating, and leaking oil. To repair a failing washer transmission, it typically requires replacing the transmission assembly, which should be done by a professional technician.
Signs of a failing water heater include insufficient hot water, strange noises coming from the unit, leaks or puddles around the water heater, and rusty or discolored water coming from the taps.
The signs that i look for are: The engine uses oil - The oil pressure drops(worn bearings) - Fouled spark plugs - Oil in the air filter housing (caused by worn piston rings, called blow-by, a bad sign) - Moisture on the dipstick - Bad compression - A failed leak down Test - a plugged Catalytic Converter - Failing a "Smog" test
Signs that the fan belt on your expedition may be failing include squeaking or squealing noises when the engine is running, visible cracks or fraying on the belt, and overheating of the engine. You might also notice poor air conditioning performance, as the fan belt powers the cooling system. If the belt becomes too worn or breaks, it can lead to engine damage, so it's important to address these issues promptly.
