Throttle bodys will make your car use more gas if it is starting to get carbon build up on it. This can be fixed by cleaning it out you do not need to replace the throttle body. Just take off the intake tube from it and look inside and turn the throttle so it will go horizontal in the chamber and look to see if it is black and dirty. If it is then go to any car parts store and buy a bottle of air intake cleaner and just spray it in the throttle body while the car is running and give it some gas so you can clean off the back side of the plate.

Your 99 Montana is shifting very hard from gear to gear I was told the throttle speed sensor needed to be changed where is it located?

It is in the throttle valve body since these are fuel injected and no carburated. A google search shows what one looks like. Symptoms are hard shifting with high idle to just a normal than high idle. Either way it should be replaced as it will fail and saves on prper fuel milage and running of engine. It fastens to the throttle body by 2 bolts and is a common fix.

There isnt one. Only the pop off valve set to to release if stock boost is exceeded in the intake manifold. Its a fail safe, not a performance component. The B.O.V will need to be mounted to the surge pipe (pipe before throttle body) and tuned properly.

What does mean engine fail safe mode in 05 explorer 4.0L?

It means that the computer is detecting that something is making your car unsafe to drive. This can be a lot of things. I cleaned out the throttle body out then drove it. It ran fine and turned on great but after I let it sit for a day it wouldn't start. Get a mechanic to check it out.
