This has been around for as long as I can remember. There is no such thing as A muffler bearing. Somebody is pulling your leg. 100% correct. Just for fun, tell whoever told you needed to change it that you need to borrow a spagnasty because you figure you'll change the blinker fluid at the same time:)
that's going to be difficult to re pare. you might as well change the bearing.
Somebody is probably pulling your leg, unless you have a GM two-speed Powerglide transmission. In which case you should take it to a professional transmission technician
Sounds like your muffler bearing may need to be repacked. Or possibly it is time to change your hover fluid. Then you put water in the gas tnk and fire it up Ok, thanks. I repacked my muffler bearing and it works fine. Could you tell me how to get the wipers to move faster, it gets hard to see when I fly through a storm.
You can purchase the bearing only or the entire hub assembly. It is usually more difficult to find and replace the bearing only.
To change the muffler or exhaust in a Chevy Venture, jack up the vehicle and locate the muffler. Spray penetrating oil on the nuts and loosen muffler clamps. Replace with new.
It's not really about "good" or "bad", more about "different". A stainless muffler will pretty much last the lifetime of the car, which is handy. OTOH it's a lot more expensive than a regular muffler. Basically it only makes sense if you intend to keep the car a long time.
depends on the model the lag 2 and older have the bearing built into the disc so its more expensive to do as its one unit other than that its not that much in it
To change your bearing, you need to turn left, right or make an about turn in the given vessel that you are travelling in.
Yes it's difficult and you need a couple of special and expensive tools.
The front bearing and seal are the last thing you see when taking the transmission apart! no access from the outside. total dissasemby required.
The install is the same as a muffler. A muffler shop can do it cheaper than anyone else.
