To create a block in AutoCAD 2013, first, draw the objects you want to include in the block. Then, select those objects and type "B" or "BLOCK" in the command line, and press Enter. In the Block Definition dialog box, give your block a name, specify a base point, and choose whether to convert the objects to a block or retain them. Finally, click "OK" to create the block, which can then be inserted into your drawing as needed.

A Block is a collection of AutoCAD objects into a named set which may then be moved, copied, erased, and so forth as a set. The individual parts of a Block may not be separately moved, copied, erased, and so forth. The Block may carry with it information about itself called Attributes.
