Circuit 2 is the fuse box located at the bottom of the left-hand side front door pillar. Just turn the set screw 1/2 turn to remove the cover. You probably have a blown or missing fuse.

What is circuit 1 failure on Jag 1989 XJ6 thanks?

I have a 1988 Jag XJ6 that presented a "Circuit 1 Failure" on the dashboard. The cause of the problem was found to be a blown fuse in the passenger side fuse box. I replaced the fuse and the error message went away. "Circuit 1" refers to the fuse box located behind the right-front passenger side kick panel. "Circuit 2 failure" would indicate a problem in the fuse box located behind the driver's kick panel. Lastly, a "Circuit 3 failure" message would indicate a problem in the fuse box located in the center console. I hope that helps! - Keith

Why is a dual line braking circuit better single line system?

If fluid is lost due to component failure, you will get total brake failure (loss of all braking except parking/emergency brake) on a single circuit system. A dual circuit system will only fail in one circuit, leaving the remaining circuit working. It is therefore safer.

Why is the three-layer insulated coil less prone to short-circuit failure?

Coiled around copper core wire, no flow blocking element. Why is this insulated wire coil not prone to short-circuit failure?

What is low voltage release?

In a series connection if one component fails the whole circuit fails?

Yes. Open circuit. A: It depends on the failure type a short will not necessarily make an open circuit but rather a non functional circuit.

What is cascade tripping?

It's when a failure of one circuit leads to another circuit to fail. This can be intentional, for protection purpose, or it may not be intentional. Cascade tripping is common in sequenced circuit.
