It is a tight squeeze under top of dash panel and over gear shift. 12) Disconnect antenna and connector. 13)Push two clips on top of car stereo down to release car stereo and push out of front of mounting sleeve. 14) See your local dealership for exchange on this car stereo. We no longer repair Jaguar car stereo.

If you have a console shift then there are 4 screws that holds the polished panel on. Remove them and there are 2 more that hold the shift panel in. turn it upside down and disconnect it.
It matters if you have atuomatic or manual transmission. In an automatic car the gears shift on it's own. In an manual car you shift buy pushing the clutch and then shift from 1st gear to 2 gear.
Last year when I aksed the Toyota dealership how to replace the shift panel lights in my Echo, they said you had to remove the whole shift panel and it would cost over $100 for labor costs. :(
You should just be able to pry up the shift panel and underneath you will notice a small bulb. Hope that helps!
