The lifespan of a car is greatly determined by the way the vehicle has been serviced. An example would be if you don't remember to change your fluids and filters until they are really dirty it hurts the performance of the car and decreases the life and performance of the car. Generally speaking if the car has been taken care of it's not crazy to expect around 300,000 miles from a well taken care of vehicle depending on the manufactor, some have a better track record than others. I have an old Ford truck that I've had since new and I'm at 430,000 miles and it still has the original motor and transmission and it runs great.
