1. Take I-81 SOUTH all the way down to I-40 WEST to KNOXVILLE at EXIT 1B in Tennessee.
2. Take I-40 WEST to I-640 WEST at EXIT 393.
3. Bypass Knoxville by taking I-640 WEST.
4. I-640 joins with I-75 at one point. From there keep following I-75 SOUTH to I-24 WEST to CHATTANOOGA and BIRMINGHAM at EXIT 2.
5. Take I-24 WEST to I-59 SOUTH to BIRMINGHAM at EXIT 167.
6. Take I-59 SOUTH to I-20 WEST to JACKSON in Mississippi. In Alabama, bypass Birmingham by taking I-459 SOUTH (EXIT 137 off I-59).
7. Continue WEST on I-20 to I-35E SOUTH to WACO at EXIT 467B in Texas. In Louisiana, you will want to bypass Shreveport by taking I-220 WEST. (EXIT 26 off I-10, then EXIT 1B off I-220 to get back onto I-20 WEST.)
