To reset a fault code in a 2001 Dodge Cummins diesel, you can use an OBD-II scanner to read and clear the codes. Connect the scanner to the OBD-II port, turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine, and follow the scanner's instructions to erase the codes. Alternatively, you can disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes to reset the engine control module, which will clear the fault codes. However, ensure to address the underlying issue before resetting to avoid reoccurrence.
