8.25 to 1 From 1977 and down. 1978 and up is 8.0 to 1 But it would really help if I new the year. There is a few other ones that are different, But just VERY LITTLE.

Probably a turbo 350.
On the Chevy V8 it is on the front of the engine driver's side. On a inline 6 cylinder it is the plug on the front of the engine. On the V6 it is the front plug on the passenger side.

if its a loud knock from the bottom end, DO NOT run the engine, it is likely a spun bearing; have a professional look at it
