The engine number on a 1974 Oldsmobile can typically be found stamped on the engine block, often on the front or side. It usually consists of a combination of letters and numbers that identify the engine type and production details. For Oldsmobiles from that year, common engines included the 350 cubic inch V8 and the 455 cubic inch V8, each with its own specific engine code. To get the precise number, you would need to inspect the engine directly.

About 100 to 300. It depends on its condition.

The Suzuki engine serial number R741-119496 indicates that the engine was manufactured in 1974. The "R" in the serial number typically signifies the engine model, while the subsequent numbers provide a unique identifier for that specific engine.
It's imprinted on the engine block near the distributor just below the top of the block.

Hello Between Nov 1974 ( serial 900000) and sept 1976 ( serial 970000) Delcourt JP Belgium
Is it an Olds engine? Olds never made a 305. Olds did produce a 307. However, once the Olds V8 went out of production, Chevy 305's were used instead of the Olds 307. If it's the Chevy engine, it will bolt right in with no modifications. If it's the Olds engine, you CAN put it in a Camaro, but you'll need an adapter plate for the bellhousing. Chances are the exhaust manifolds won't line up with the existing exhaust either, not to mention a bunch of other little tweaks that you will need to do to get the Olds engine in the Camaro, but yes, it's absolutely doable.
