The air handler does not have a tonnage rating, the evaporator coil within it is what you`re looking for since any given air handler can accomodate several different coil sizes. For the answer to your tonnage question see the tag on the coil, though that may prove to be difficult since it is enclosed in the plenum. An easier method would be to get the tonnage from the condenser model # in the yard.
To determine the tonnage of a Lennox HP19 511 1P heat pump, you can check the unit's nameplate, typically located on the side or back of the unit. The tonnage is usually specified in the model number, where "HP" often indicates heat pump capacity. Additionally, you can calculate it based on the cooling capacity in BTUs—1 ton equals 12,000 BTUs. In the case of the HP19 series, consult the manufacturer's specifications for precise tonnage details.
The Lennox condenser unit model HS18-413-5Y has a cooling capacity of 4 tons. This is determined by its model number, where the "4" indicates the tonnage of the unit. Lennox units are designed for efficiency and performance, making them suitable for residential or light commercial applications.
The Lennox HS29-651-1P is a 5-ton heat pump unit. It is designed for residential use and is capable of both heating and cooling. The model number indicates its capacity, with "651" typically designating a 5-ton rating.
The 48 in the serial number denotes the tonnage. Divide that number by 12 to get the tonnage of 4.
While i do not know the answer to your question, i can say if you have a chrysler air handler it is definitely advised to get it replaced. They stopped being made around 40 years ago, and parts are no longer sold for them from the manufacturer.
