referring to several manufacturer's recomendations, (Metal Aire, Titus etc.)for low noise you should use a 25x20 or 24x20 for a low nc. Of course, I'm sure every ac mechanic has his own "rule of thumb" and most would probably say you could get by with a 20x20, true, but again it's all based on air velocity thru the grille which relates to the noise created. Bigger is better. Good idea to line your ra plenum with something like eggcreate foam use on bedding to help with noise. I prefer a 2" pleated filter (no fiberglas) installed in a return air filter grille for easy change outs. They give best performance (dust trapping) for the money.
Your ac contractor or engineer will determine the correct size.
The size of the return air grill depends on the size of the forced air fan. The return air grid to reduce noise should be 5 to 8 times the size of the fan outlet. A 36000 btu heating system often has between a 500 to 1500 CFM fan the outlets on these fans are often between 30 and 80 square inches so the grid should be between 150 and 600 square inches (depending on the fan), the bigger you can fit the better. If you can fit it I'd put in a 12 x36 grill (432 sq in) but a 12 x 24" (288 sq inch)grill should work well too.
The size is determined by the ac contractor or engineer.
48,000 btus is equal to 4 tons of air flow, 12,000 btus per ton. You need 144 sq in per ton. Return grill should be 24x24. 48,000 btus is equal to 4 tons of air flow, 12,000 btus per ton. You need 144 sq in per ton. Return grill should be 24x24. 48,000 btus is equal to 4 tons of air flow, 12,000 btus per ton. You need 144 sq in per ton. Return grill should be 24x24.
For a 3.5-ton AC unit, the return air grill should typically be sized to allow for adequate airflow. A general guideline is to allow about 400-450 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of airflow per ton of cooling. Therefore, for a 3.5-ton unit, you would want a return grill that can accommodate around 1,400 to 1,575 CFM. It's important to consult with an HVAC professional for precise sizing based on your specific system and home layout.
You can find a high-quality return air grill for your HVAC system at home improvement stores, HVAC supply stores, or online retailers specializing in HVAC equipment. Be sure to look for a grill that is the right size for your system and made of durable materials for long-lasting performance.
What size supply register are you using? The return register should match the supply. If the return is too small you will have positive air pressure in the room, and if too large you will negative air pressure.
really depends on the size of the unit but if your not sure i would go with a 20x20 or a 20x25 filterback grill..
The average size of a Cadillac Deville Grill is listed on the site Auto Anything as being roughly 1.3 meters by 0.6 meters, though the size of a grill of course depends on the car.
I recommend you buy a full size grill. A small size grill cannot cook a lot of produce at the same time and does not cook as good as full sized. Full size is especially good if you cook for a large family or for a lot of friends.
Air return duct and filter grille size is dictated by the size of the unit (CFM) not the size of the house.
yes i have. last june i baught Philips Smokeless Indoor Grill. its size is small and easy to operate.
