In the U.S., Auto Insurance companies do not salvage a vehicle. If the vehicle claim is paid out as a total loss it is sold or auctioned off to a salvage or a junk yard.
The junk yard may crush the vehicle for scrap metal value or salvage parts from the vehicle or even to re-title the car on a salvage title but this is totally up to the salvage yard or whomever the yard then re-sells the vehicle too.
If you don't own a vehicle, or have no intention of driving, you do not have to maintain auto insurance.
You should be talking to the insurance company that insures the vehicle you were a passenger in. If it was a single vehicle accident they will be responsible but if it wasn't then the at fault drivers insurance would cover it.
You have to have a vehicle to carry auto insurance.
If you are listed as a friver you should be covered under his insurance which means you should be able to add your vehicle as wee.
If you already have auto insurance your agent should be able to work something out for you.
Each vehicle should have its own insurance so each should pay out if each were damaged, whoever owns them.
re: auto insurance, no; auto insurance is written on the vehicle, not on a person.
There is no need for auto insurance if you don't have a vehicle. What would there be to insure ?
Since it was caused by the vehicle, the vehicle insurance should cover it. Most home owners insurance companies would probably make a claim against the auto insurance company, if they covered it.
You should not drive this vehicle at all on public roads without insurance.
I did a search and could not find info on a company called "safety auto insurance, but for safety, you should purchase auto insurance for every vehicle you own. This is a safety measure that protects everyone.
It depends on the terms of the insurance and the type of damage to the vehicle. Contact your insurance agent for the terms of your insurance. In general, it should.
