wat the #@$!& is a valve cover ...who cares about sparks!!!!
I would not expect a valve cover leak to cause a car to stall. A valve cover leak can fill the spark plug area with oil which can cause rough running.
the valve cover gasket is bad, or the valve cover is loose
the valve cover gaskets are leaking. the valve cover gasket kits are cheep labor is expensive, 5 hour job!
Yes, if it leaks oil through and on to the spark plugs, it will foul them and cause a missfire.
Most common cause for a misfire on the 2.5L is oil in the spark plug holes do to leaking valve cover plug tube seals. You would need to replace plugs, wires, and valve cover gaskets in that situation. Most common cause for a misfire on the 2.5L is oil in the spark plug holes do to leaking valve cover plug tube seals. Oil on the outside of the spark plugs is caused by a leaking valve cover gasket. Replace the valve cover gasket. Oil on the electrode of the spark plugs indicates the engine is worn and is burning oil. The only fix for this is an engine rebuild.

The spark plugs are located underneath the four black rubber plugs visible on the top of the engine valve cover. When you open the hood, there will be a black plastic box with four short black rubber wires mounted to the top of the valve cover above the bar that says '2.0 liter 16 valve'. Pull off the 4 plugs and the spark plugs will be accessable at the bottom of the tubes that are exposed.
It cannot smoke out of the spark plug. It can however be leaking oil around the spark plug area thus causing it to smoke. The problem is the valve cover is leaking. Try tightening the valve cover bolts slightly. If that does not stop the leak, replace the valve cover gasket.
Spark plug tube seals are seals in the valve cover and prevent oil from leaking into the spark plug tubes. Some are of the o-ring type others are pressed in. They are located on the inside of the valve cover and require removal of the valve cover. When buying a new valve cover gasket they are sometimes supplied. So be sure if they are needed to get a gasket set with them included.
Looking at the top of the valve cover there is a cover in the center. The spark plugs are right below that cover.
