In drivng a jacked up truck, my gauges very seldom read right. For one, if you have a lifted or lowered car or truck, the gausges are going to be slightly off. 2. your alternador may be going bad or have a loose battery wire.
Remove the instrument panel cover. Remove the instrument panel retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the gauges. The instrument panel will come out.

A bad ground wire will cause your instrument panel gauges to bounce up and down. The ground wire can be loose or it can be corroded.

To do this, screws must be removed from the dash panel located around the instrument panel. There are also screws securing the clock adjustment knob and the glass/instrument panel itself. The bulbs twist into the backside of the instrument panel. There are several of them.
