my ml500 does not give enough heat inside
Make sure the engine is cool. Take off the radiator cap that is on the radiator. Pour in a half and half mixture of distilled water and antifreeze unti it is full then replace the radiator cap.
This could be due to a blockage in the radiator hose, preventing the flow of coolant. Another possible reason is a malfunctioning thermostat that is not allowing the coolant to circulate properly. It's best to have a mechanic inspect and diagnose the issue to determine the exact cause.
What I do is put half antifreeze and half water in to the radiator and keep putting more radiator fluid tell you see it in the neck of the radiator and put some radiator fluid in the coolant reservoir tank too.
The radiator itself probably holds a half gallon. The car as a whole would hold about 2 gallons.
Normally a radiator has a cockplug at the bottom you can pull out or remove to drain the radiator.
The radiator plug can be located on the bottom of the radiator. The plug can be removed with a half inch ratchet.
Low coolant, Thermostat, But mostly with these machines operating a lot with dirt and sand. They need to be blown out regularly because of the areas they work in and the pressure the fan puts through the radiator to keep it cool. Air hardly ever get stuck in the radiator fins , But all those little particles of dirt and sand tins to build up through the cores that dissipates the heat. And there is generally another cooler that covers half of the radiator space about an inch and a half in front of the radiator. And if one OR both of the hoses from that oil cooler is not tighten down properly it could leak just enough that you may not see it until you have to tear them apart for cleaning and see that you have and inch and a half greasy dirt cake between them both and the other half of the radiator may be clogged up with dirt. which takes a few hrs alone to clean completely after you can get to them. with air hose then pressure wash.
No. Half-and-half is made from cow's milk and cream. Cool Whip is non-dairy. It is made from oil.
The 2004 GMC radiator drain is located on the bottom of the radiator. The radiator drain plug can be removed with a half inch ratchet.
Top up the radiator then run the engine until warmed up to normal operating temperature; shut it off and let it cool down half an hour.Top off the radiator again. You are done.
Several solutions: Change the thermostat (could be sticking shut).....backflush your radiator....could be dirty and clogged, replace radiator hoses, check for pin hole leaks in your radiator. Is the fluid level staying normal or are you constantly adding anti-freeze? Halfway on the scale is normal.
I would be thinking it is a head gasket.
