The amount of oil charge required for an automotive AC system is specific to the car. There is not standard amount for all cars.
The Autozone web site says 7.00 ounces.
If the system didn't blow a hose and you are only replacing the compressor, I would add 3 ounces of oil to the new compressor through the suction port and turn the comp by hand several revolutions to pump it through.
7 ounces
3 or 4 ounces.
Yes, Because it won't work right if you do not oil.
The capacity is 6.75 oz for '94-99 sentras. They use PAG100 oil.
sometimes 8oz it just depends on your compressor. maybe even 12oz
The oil is in the freon along w/leak detector.
The compressors that come with central Ac systems are hermetically sealed and have oil inside. There is no need to add oil. If you are replacing the compressor then flush the line set first then replace, also install a filter drier.
If I change the AC compressor in a car, do I have to change the orifice?
You should be fine with between five to seven ounces.
The systems holds 266 ml (9 oz).......
