Those are the only two locations of the VIN on the 66.
Look VERY closely underneath the hood, on the driver's side, on the top of the frame, near the middle of the windshield and driver's headlamp.
It is very common, after many paint jobs (and re-sanding), for that VIN to eventually fade and/or disappear altogether.

On a 1996 Ford Mustang : Two of the places that you will find the VIN are : Open the drivers door , and on the end of the door ( or the latch pillar ) will be an information sticker that will include the VIN If you look through the front windshield from OUTSIDE , at the bottom of the windshield , on the drivers side , on top off the dash will be a metal plate that has the VIN
It would be with the VIN number under the bonnet, on the dash on the left side, or inside the door of the drivers or passenger side.
You have to remove the door panel and it will be just under the out side door handle.

The drivers manual that came with the car will show it.
