The AC recharge port on a 1998 GMC 2500 pickup is typically located on the low-pressure side of the AC system. You can find it near the accumulator or receiver-drier, usually on the larger diameter line that runs from the compressor. It's generally marked with a blue or black cap and is designed for the attachment of the refrigerant recharge hose. Always ensure the engine is off and the AC system is not under pressure before attempting to recharge.
You can recharge your 1998 Mercury Mystique air conditioning system through the low pressure port. You can find the low pressure port on top of the air conditioning compressor.

The recharge port is located under the intake air scoop on the passenger side of the engine compartment. To make it easier to access I normally remove the two screws that hold the intake air scoop in place, located along the front cross member and move the unit out of the way without disconnecting it. The recharge port - low pressure and high pressure ports are then easy to access. They are different sizes so you can not accidentally connect to the wrong port. Larry
You probably need to recharge the freon.
Can't find any information on the 454 ever being installed in a 2500. Do a Google search and see what you find. GM did put a 454 in the 2500. I believe that the horsepower rating is about 290. Unfortunately i don't know about torque. i own a 98 k2500 with a 454,The Vortec 454 stock puts out 290HP 410TQ,
To recharge the AC in a 1998 Saturn SL2, locate the low-pressure service port, which is typically found on the larger diameter aluminum line running from the compressor to the evaporator. Remove the cap from the port and connect the refrigerant can or charging kit. Follow the instructions on the refrigerant can, and make sure to check the system pressure while charging to avoid overfilling. Always wear safety goggles and gloves during the process.
