The vin is where it's supposed to be on the front frame cross menber. The problem is on some models or years it is not stamped and very hard to read. Try rubbing chalk on the frame and rubbing off the excess with your finger, the results should be barely readable. Hope ths helps, Bill B NH
The VIN number is stamped on the front end of the frame, easily seen when you are standing in front of the vehicle looking down at the frame, centrally, a bit to the right.
It should be on the front og the bike near where the fork is.
The VIN is on the neck of the frame
Most bikes the vin is on the steering head tube.
Steering neck...
I may be wrong but I don't believe a 1986 has a VIN # they only came with a manufacturers statement of origin.. Titleing and licensing didn't come till a few years later my 86 250 trx has the nums. on the top right side of the block by the kick start
The location of a VIN on a 1999 through 2007 Honda 400EX is on the front frame. It is located just behind the front bumper.

Where is the vin on a honda 650c
Inside the front left tire. you have to cut ompen the tire to see it.
On a 2002 Honda Rancher 350, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can typically be found on the frame, located on the left side, near the front of the vehicle, just below the handlebars. It may also be located on the right side of the frame or on a plate attached to the frame near the rear. It's advisable to clean the area if the VIN is difficult to read due to dirt or rust.
Frame below the engine if I remember correctly. I forget which side.
